Reign of Darkness ( The Prince’s Assassin #2) - Ariana Nash

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

If you were on the edge after finishing King of Dark fear no  more because now have the sequel and sadly you will still be on edge at the end :)

I have to admit while I did enjoy the first installment, Reign of Dark is my favorite so far. I like how the story is shaping to be, the twist and turns the author creates and how our main characters figured them out  as well as the readers. I especially enjoy the character development and learning more about them. An the Chemistry we felt in the prequel but was explored more in this installment πŸ€—. Vasili the anti hero i can’t help to love and Niko who I also love but want to slap. Haha

Overall if you enjoy the first installment you will sure love this one. You get the twist, the chemistry, Vasili πŸ˜‰ . As I warned before it does end in a little cliffhanger but fear not I’m sure Ariana will not disappoint us.

Face offs & Cheap Shots - Eden Finley & Saxon James

Have you ever read a book blurb and say to yourself, “This book will for sure one great read”  And it was.

Face offs & Cheap shots is the second book in the CU Series it tells the story of two rival hockey players TJ Beckett and Christopher Jacobs and what happens when a game of gay chicken gets a little too intense for this enemies.

This book is just amazing. Is a funny, sexy, light
read with a touch of some key moments that will make you just love it. There is no more that I can say that will do justice to this story. There is something about enemies to lovers that just screams at me to read it and I couldn’t have been more happy after I finish it I wanted more of them, more of the side characters because let me tell you the MC’s weren’t the only great thing. And I guessing certain characters  story  will be just as great.  If you love enemies to lovers then this story is just for you. Check out the rest of the series too.

Eternal Sin(Primal Sin#2) -Ariana Nash

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Primal Sin was one of my absolute favorite books of this year, so you could imagine my excitement when I finally got Eternal Sin in my hands.

Eternal Sin was just amazing. In this installment we have Mikhail loosing his control after Severn betrayal all those locked emotions are finally free and wrecking havoc in his heart, mind and all over . We also have Severn fighting for his survival against the demons but also trying to get to Mikhail Which is another obstacle. Will their love survive and most importantly will their love save them?

Wow I gotta say Eternal Sin is an emotional roller coaster in the most amazing way yet anxiety induced kind of book. The love Of Mikhail and Severn is everything both are suffering, one because of betrayal and lies and the other because he cause them. I love have Ariana Nash wrote their relationship and how is this installment it grow even more.
I can’t say enough how much I‘m loving this series, each time I finish I crave More and more. Especially after those cliffhangers they leave me anxious of what is going to happen next, I just want them happy please Ariana Nash I need a HEA also there is a certain Angel that needs its own book.
Overall Eternal Sin was amazing. Please if you love stories about Angel and Demons, forbidden romance and enemies to lovers. Don’t sleep on this series, it really is truly amazing. Can’t wait for more. I am Ready
❤️

Breaking News(Prime Time#2)-Ella Frank (Review)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the pleasure of reviewing the second installment of this amazing series and just like the first, the second is just as amazing.

Breaking News is book 2 in the prime time series it follows detective Sean Bailey as he disguises as anchorman Alexander Thorne fake boyfriend after a stalker situation for Xander.
Breaking News opens up right after the end of inside Affair, Sean is injured after saving Xander but Xander is left shaken by the whole situation. Trying to move forward  both navigate and help each other to heal both physically and mentally and to top it all still dealing with their new found feelings

I don’t really have much to say except that just I love this book and the whole this series at this point , Ella is doing a fantastic job on the pace of the story is not too rushed and not too slow, is like she is naturally letting the characters discovered together their feelings and How both really are and just peel back those impression they both had about each other. Is really impressive how Ella is shaping the story to be I’ve been loving so much that Sean and Xander have definitely become one my favorite couples along with Logan and Tate. I can’t wait for what she will bring with Headlines (#3) as both MC’s deal with family and friends reactions towards their romance especially after that cliffhanger.

King Of Dark (The Prince’s Assassin #1) by Ariana Nash (Review )

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently discover Ariana Nash, casually strolling through Goodreads and felt intrigued by her stories after I read and Loved Primal Sin( another series of hers) after that,  I became a fan therefore when she announced a new series that will have an Enemies to lovers vibe I couldn’t help myself what can I say enemies to lovers are my new kind of storiesπŸ€—.

The King of Dark tells the story of Nikolas Yazdan an ex soldier that after vowing to never serve the royals until Prince Vasili makes him submit to his orders and discover who is plotting to kill him.

I have to admit while I like and enjoy  the story I didn’t fully love it like I did with Primal Sin. It might have been because is the first book and the story was a very slow burn kind book (at least the 1st book) but the twist and turns the story and characters gives us are truly amazing 🀯. What I truly love was Prince Vasili, oh my goodness he took the spotlight in the whole story, the dark, tortured and mysterious prince was the cherry and the dessert. I can’t wait how his characters will evolve throughout the series and maybe/hopefully a relationship with Niko . For now we left with a bit of a cliffhanger as to what to expect next. If you have read any of Ariana Nash Past works or are a fan of Silk and Steel series this is right up your alley as is does have a bit of the same vibe.

***** Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an Honest Review *****

Primal Sin ( Primal Sin#1) by Ariana Nash

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t remember how the exact time or how I scroll through my Goodreads and found this Amazing book but my goodness it was the best and worse day because now I need more.

Primal Sin tells the story of Mikhail a guarding angel and Severn a demon disguised as an angel and right hand of Mikhail. Set In a dystopian like setting, this a story of Vengeance and what happens when you fall In love with the enemy.

When I first discovered Primal Sin I was a bit hesitant to start reading because many reviews advised to wait because of a bit of a cliffhanger and I wanted to wait I truly did but I couldn’t help myself it was too tempting but I’m glad because I truly enjoy it and right now I am impatiently waiting for more. Ariana Nash truly did an amazing job with the story, the setting and most importantly the characters, their mistakes, flaws and virtues make this story an amazing blend. If your a fan of Ariana Nash or just want to enjoy Dark but sexy MM about Angels & Demons this story is for you. :)

Breaking News (Prime Time #2) Cover Reveal

Breaking News, the highly anticipated continuation of Xander and Sean’s story by USA Today bestselling author Ella Frank is coming July 27th, and we have the incredible cover!

XANDER

Sean Bailey, the older brother of my lifelong best friend, has always been a surly, temperamental pain in my ass. But sometime during the last few weeks, I’ve gone and fallen head over heels for him.

Gruff and charming, charismatic in his own way, I’ve found myself looking past my preconceptions and discovered a whole new side to Detective Dick—a side I could fall in love with.

But life isn’t always easy—it can change course in the blink of an eye. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. I know this because last night I experienced both sides.

I went to Sean for help in guarding my body; what I didn’t expect was for him to steal my heart.

The Hunter (Boston Belles #1) -L.J. Shen

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️. 75 /5

Hunter Fitzpatrick the wild child and heir to Royal Pipelines.
Sailor Brennan, daughter of a reputable businessman unless proven otherwise and Olympic hopeful.
What will happen when both have to live together for 6 months. Will he be Hunter or the Prey?

The Hunter is the first installment of a new series by L.J. Shen. It tells the story of Hunter Fitzpatrick the wild child, the one that seems to only care about party, sex and women. After an unfortunate incident in the form of a sex tape, his family had enough, and gives him an ultimatum be celibate for 6 months and earns his place as a Fitzpatrick heir in comes Sailor Brennan an archer whose dream is to win a gold medal but for that she needs sponsors and to get that she gets the offer of her life babysit Hunter for 6 months.

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to start this series but nevertheless I give in and pick it up when  I first begun  the Hunter I was not very impressed with the story I had trouble warming up to the  characters and their  actions and it took me time but as I kept reading and as a dive in deeper Into the story I started to like it more and warm up to it. I especially love  the introduction to the side characters  most especially Cillian (Hunter’s brother) they way L.J. Shen gave us a little tease on what’s to come made me excited to continue the series which I hope does justice to each character and  won’t fall on the curse (Unfortunately mine)of how sometimes the sound amazing as side characters but when you read them as leads is a whole different picture of what we imagine.  In conclusion while it did took time to warm up to the story I’m happy I continue it, As it got better and enjoy it in the end. To me it was a good start of a new series, new setting and characters. I’m hopeful of what’s to come especially Cillian&Emmabelle (hopefully🀞🏻, please make it happen Mrs. Shen).

Hello! (Update)

Hello, lovely people

I wanted to post an update and apologize on why  I haven’t been posting since I think last year. The reason is life got in the way and with life issues comes stress therefore my mental health was all over the place still kind of is but I’m fighting through it.

One thing that my stress affected  was reading, picking up a book became a chore rather than enjoyment to my mind, I was having difficulty finishing books, loving books. It just wasn’t the same anymore  after that I made the decision stop reading for a while but I kind of missed the feeling of getting lost in a books but since my reading mojo was a bit down I became a bit picky on choosing my next read because before my stress kick in i did have trouble finishing books, many of the books I read before either had some kind of pattern  or just were the same old same nothing new or exciting.  Books that I see today have the same repetitive plots, bully, love triangle or harem or fake something. Not saying their bad at all ,  some of my favorite books have the same troupes but it was just kind of repetitive for me like when vampires and BDSM became the IT thing to write. But like I say I missed reading a good book at night or those days that a book is all you need. To make short , Nowadays I just pick books that either I know I will enjoy or just want to try out and that is also I thing I’ve been doing with Reviews tours or Blitz tours, I still want to support authors but only if I know I have the time and know that is a book I will be interested In not just for the “free book” .  And that has helped me enjoy reading once again, and it boost my mind to feel relax and good. One thing I love about books was that it show me another world, I learned through a characters experience, that I can free me from a bad reality but it has the power to open my eyes to bad realities in life.

Expect some reviews this week and coming moths since some of my favorite authors are having amazing releases. I will try to post reviews on books that I read and are already out, also new and upcoming books. I’m very excited to get back here and share more with you all. I promise I will try to be a bit more constant, maybe share more bad reviews usually here I only share my good reads and  post either my DNF or low rating books on my Goodreads but will try to mix it up once in a while.

Thank you,
Itzel πŸ¦‹

#BLACKLIVESMATTER

Hello, I know it’s been some time since I last updated my blog, I had a some rough times that I will dive into later but  if you still here thank you but Today I wanted to share some of my thoughts on what I feel we all need to be aware of , it’s a topic that is widely known but not fully understood.  Today  I want to share why it matters and why we need a change in the system that keeps segregation in place.

For many 2020 was the year that we all were waiting for , the beginning of a new decade and many milestones that we were hoping for.  2020 was for sure “THE YEAR”  It brought us a pandemic that was an eye opening on how fragile our healthcare system was, our society and our governments, but 2020 is not done opening our eyes on another pandemic that is been around us for years , is roaming in our household, our schools, our jobs, our government, the whole world, a disease that  each year seems to get stronger, it penetrates our minds and hearts. A silent killer. This pandemic is know a RACISM , DISCRIMINATION and HATE. It has affect it us since forever because it a human creation on what we think is right. I just can’t understand why we still need to be educated on how to treat a human being. On why 400 years have passed and nothing has changed

Racism is not only an America problem, is a world problem it affect us all we need to first understand that in fact is a disease that we as human have the cure but ignore it. We humans have divided the ONLY race the HUMAN RACE into different races by the pigment of our skin, and not only that by our income, our jobs, our education by our Privileged. We sometimes think privilege is a word that defines our wealth but is not. Privilege is a word that defines how we are treated in society according to the profile that is deem perfect by society.  A profile that we don’t fit in because we sometimes lack the “right” pigmentation in our skin. We have normalize words that were used to hurt and humiliate people, just because you hear it in a song it doesn’t mean you have to used it or say it. We use stereotypes to define people, when  did we become GOD to judge people, to point a finger to take a life. I don’t understand why those who take an oath to protect us are the first to  persecute base on a profile of pure stereotypes.

When will it be ENOUGH to stop this disease for us human to understand that we all deserve to be respected to be treated equally just because our skin might be different shade it doesn’t mean we are from another planet that requires for you to treated us differently. We are not born racist be are taught to be racist and to hate what it doesn’t look what you deem perfect. How many more years, How much more violence, how many more deaths will it take for you to open your eyes to see the problem we have. It’s time to burst that bubble and realize that the is a problem and stop ignoring it. If you vote, make sure you are not voting for person just because they bears the tittle of the party you support but on what He/She want for the county. Do they want to make it better or worse, if their values are the same in private as well as public. If you say or think #Alllivesmatter yes it’s true  but we are not there yet, we haven’t crossed that phase and we won’t until  #BLACKLIVESMATTER, until we stop discriminating people based on their skin color, religion, language or country they are born. Until we stop killing black people based on stereotypes or hatred, All lives won’t matter.

Here I will link some helpful links to educate ourselves on how we can help change and achieve equality for all lives.

Nightfall(Devil’s Night #4)- Penelope Douglas (Cover Reveal)

Edit: We Finally have a Date!!!!!
July 24th
It’s coming prepare your calendars because it will be amazing

Pre-orders are available Clicks the Links here! on AmazonNookiBooks, and KOBO. Nightfall will go into Kindle Unlimited on release day!

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas comes the thrilling, final installment in the Devil’s Night series…

EMORY
They call it Blackchurch. A secluded mansion in a remote, undisclosed location where the wealthy and powerful send their misbehaving sons to cool off away from prying eyes.
Will Grayson has always been an animal, though. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going to risk him humiliating the family again.
Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might’ve enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn’t catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but…
He could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe.
The truth is… He has a right to hate me.
It’s all my fault. Everything.
Devils Night. The videos. The arrests.
I’m to blame for all of it.
And I regret nothing.

WILL
I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. No one has ever looked at me any other way.
Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no Internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I’ll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies.
A plan.
And a new pack of wolves.
I just didn’t expect one of my enemies to come to me.
I don’t know who smuggled her in or if they meant to leave her here, but I can smell her hiding in the house. She’s here.
And as the security detail leaves the supplies, the gates close, and the door to my gilded cage opens, giving me free reign of the house and grounds for another unsupervised month, I remember with a smile…
Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I’m only one of her problems.

*Nightfall, Devil’s Night #4,  is a full-length, romantic suspense suitable for readers 18+. It’s necessary to read the prior installments in the series before starting this story.

Tweet Cute- Emma Lord

I have to admit that 2019 was not my reading year will go in more depth in another post but fortunately there was some light to my darkness in my book slump. I was honor to have been chosen to review Emma Lord debut novel “Meet Cute” a fluffy, witty, lighthearted novel just as good as a gooey grilled cheese or burger depending on your tastes.

Meet Cute is the story of two teens Pepper and Jack both of them have families that own a food business but what happens when a Twitter war ensues  between them and what happens when they start falling for each other.

I adored this rom com. More than the cuteness overload the story also provide good deep aspects that I seriously loved. While is was funny and cute it also had that seriousness to it was the perfect mix to a good heartfelt rom com. The characters were well developed and liked and the writing was excellent. In overall Tweet Cute was great debut, it provide all the key points for a perfect read. I would recommend to have some snacks while reading because you’ll get hungry πŸ˜‰❤️.

****Thank you so much to the author and the publisher for kindly providing a review copy. All opinions are my own****
