Crush (Bayonet Scars #4)- J C Emery

The fourth installment of the Bayonet Scars series, and Jeremy and Cheyenne's story, I can't tell you how eager and intrigued I was to read their story and how will unfold.

We met them in the previous book Rev, Cheyenne is the daughter of Grady and Jeremy is the Son of Butch two patch members of the Forsaken Motorcycle club. and their story seem sweet and amazing I like how J C brought these two characters together and want it more, I and was glad she give us their story.

Cheyenne and Jeremy were both raised in the club life but even through that, they were total opposites, Cheyenne being a cheerful popular girl at school and Jeremy somewhat of a Bad Boy, but until tragedy struck Forsaken Club, is when the attraction and the beginning of their story begun.

Jeremy is a 18 year-old that even with his young age he has earned the privilege of prospecting for the club his father is a member of, I really loved his character, sometimes he did got on my nerves but  he redeem in the end, he loved Cheyenne fiercely and was willing to make sacrifices to protect her in the turmoil that both lived in, I also love his commitment to the club, and how he prove his worth to the club and to Cheyenne.

Cheyenne is not your typical heroine, though she can be a typical teenager sometimes, but with that she is much more than that and proves that she is strong willed and at moments a wise young lady that can deal with anything.  I love that even though Jeremy cause her heartaches she never give up on her love for him and stood her ground for what she wanted even willing to make sacrifices for him.

I really loved how JC Emery played out their story and was glad she decided to turn it into a novel instead as the novella she planned, because it gives us more background on the characters. I think this story is not as steamy as the others but it might be for the reason that the characters are a bit younger. it can also  be slow paced sometimes but is very enjoyable and as a reader of the series you get some questions answers and more questions in your head, but I can say that I'm definitely hooked and can't wait to see how the war between Forsaken and Mancuso unfolds, and what kinds of tragedies awaits for our favorite characters, but for the moments I can say that definitely need Ian and Mindy's story and maybe a Diesel one ;)

EXCERPT

Pulling my phone out of my pocket when it chimes, I read the message that awaits me. It’s from Jeremy and says, WHERE R U?
Crap.
OUT, I text back.
I FUCKIN KNOW THAT. WHERE R U? he responds. I so don’t want to tell him where I’m at or what I’m doing, but he can be relentless and I think I need his help anyway, so I give him the address of the neighbor lady. I hope he doesn’t recognize the street name as the Jennings’ street, but knowing my luck, he will.
DON’T MOVE, he says.
ON WAY HOME, I write back in hopes that this will calm him down.
It doesn’t.
DON’T FUCKIN MOVE, he says and finishes it off with, I GOT 2 HUNT U DOWN, I WON’T BE HAPPY.

For The Record- K.A. Linde

Is such a bittersweet ending to one of my Favorite series of 2014, For the Record was such a perfect ending to a beautiful political/passionate journey, Brady & Liz relationship is one that I will never forget, even with the many anxiety attacks that I went through with them, on that note here is my thought on the final book.

After all the obstacles Liz and Brady had to face on the previous books you probably think that the end of the journey would be easy but that is not K.A. Linde style and she prove it with  For The Record. Now that Brady & Liz relationship is public, every step they take is know, the stakes are higher in their relationship and only trust in each other will help them overcome those obstacles.
This book doesn't have as much angst as in the previous book, the Heroine(Liz) is much mature and aware on the position she is in, she is not just a reporter anymore, she is the Girlfriend of a State Senator that is about to re-elect, and on this story she proves her worth to her and Brady that she is so much more than what people think of her. she learn from her mistakes and fought for the love of Brady, this story proves sometimes how scandals can affect your life not only personal but professional as well, it was heartbreaking to read what Liz have to give up because of the relationship she  had with Brady. but you know the saying once a door closes another one opens and Liz prove that, she did not only wanted her man but she wanted her dreams as well. to me she is an example that you don't give up. you strive until you get it.

Brady is my favorite male lead in all the K. A. Linde books, he is driven  man that goes for what he wants, don't matter the odds or obstacles he has to faced, he strives till the end, of course until love knock on his door and he had to rethink what was more worth it in the end for him, and he prove just that.  I love how he was with Liz on this book he was attentive and by no means unsupportive of her dreams, instead  he encourage her and support her. he too had to endure the obstacles he was thrown for having a public relationship but, to him Liz matter the most and if he didn't have her, then all his achievements  pale in comparison  of losing her.
The end of course was bittersweet but it was perfect,  I was happy that both Brady & Liz found happiness in each other and made all their dreams come true. it was such a rollercoaster of emotions but it will  leave you satisfied but secretly wanting more.

Big Thanks to the publisher for proving me with a Copy for an honest Review.
