From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas comes the thrilling, final installment in the Devil’s Night series…

EMORY
They call it Blackchurch. A secluded mansion in a remote, undisclosed location where the wealthy and powerful send their misbehaving sons to cool off away from prying eyes.
Will Grayson has always been an animal, though. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going to risk him humiliating the family again.
Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might’ve enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn’t catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but…
He could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe.
The truth is… He has a right to hate me.
It’s all my fault. Everything.
Devils Night. The videos. The arrests.
I’m to blame for all of it.
And I regret nothing.

WILL
I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. No one has ever looked at me any other way.
Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no Internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I’ll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies.
A plan.
And a new pack of wolves.
I just didn’t expect one of my enemies to come to me.
I don’t know who smuggled her in or if they meant to leave her here, but I can smell her hiding in the house. She’s here.
And as the security detail leaves the supplies, the gates close, and the door to my gilded cage opens, giving me free reign of the house and grounds for another unsupervised month, I remember with a smile…
Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I’m only one of her problems.

*Nightfall, Devil’s Night #4,  is a full-length, romantic suspense suitable for readers 18+. It’s necessary to read the prior installments in the series before starting this story.

Tweet Cute- Emma Lord

I have to admit that 2019 was not my reading year will go in more depth in another post but fortunately there was some light to my darkness in my book slump. I was honor to have been chosen to review Emma Lord debut novel “Meet Cute” a fluffy, witty, lighthearted novel just as good as a gooey grilled cheese or burger depending on your tastes.

Meet Cute is the story of two teens Pepper and Jack both of them have families that own a food business but what happens when a Twitter war ensues  between them and what happens when they start falling for each other.

I adored this rom com. More than the cuteness overload the story also provide good deep aspects that I seriously loved. While is was funny and cute it also had that seriousness to it was the perfect mix to a good heartfelt rom com. The characters were well developed and liked and the writing was excellent. In overall Tweet Cute was great debut, it provide all the key points for a perfect read. I would recommend to have some snacks while reading because you’ll get hungry 😉❤️.

Pretty Reckless (ASH#1)- L.J. Shen (promo)

In most places, high school is a zoo.
But All Saints High? It's a lawless jungle.

All the cool kids wear the same brands.

Have the same hair.
Same shoes.
Same cars.
Same hookups.
Same fucking makeup artists, hair stylist and harem of preppy help.
Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy.
But Daria Followhill? She's the OG.
Girls want to be her.
Guys want to be INSIDE her.
It really doesn't get better than this for Queen Bae, does it?
Until HE shows up, turns her kingdom upside down, and breaks her crown...
HE is not what you think.
SHE is not what you expect.
You're probably thinking in an obvious direction, but let me assure you, this is not where this story is going

Let the (power) games begin...

Excerpt:

“I don’t want you transferring into my school,” I hiss out. Melody would gladly file a transfer
request, and Principal
Prichard would salivate over the chance to snatch him up for our football team.
“That won’t be a problem. You guys suck so much ass, you have shit-breath.”
“Still smells better than poverty. You’re poor, right? Your sister was just bullshitting about being rich.”
When someone hits me with a stick, I run over them with a tank. I’m so mean to him I want to throw up. I hate this part of being me. The striking harder at all costs part.
“Just to make things clear.” I put the brush down, batting my lashes. “You’re not my step-sibling, foster brother, or a part of the family. You’re a stray dog. Last of the litter, most unlikely to be adopted, and a charity case.”
Penn takes a step toward me, and my heart is fighting its way out of my ribcage. The closer he gets, the more I realize that my heart might succeed. Penn’s eyes remind me of a snake’s. Mesmerizing, but inhuman altogether. They weren’t like that before.
His scent messes with my head. I want to reach out and caress his face. Kiss his wounds better. Beg for forgiveness. Curse him. Push him away. Cry on his shoulder for what we’ve done. For how it ended. For what we became afterwards, because I’m full of crap and he is totally empty.
We ruined ourselves the day of our first kiss.
Penn looks down at me. Time stops. It feels like the world is losing gravity, falling into a bottomless depth in space
when he clasps my chin with his thumb and finger, lifting my head up. I can’t breathe. I’m not sure I want to, either. My towel drops to the floor with a thud, even though I secured it over my chest. I realize that he tugged at it intentionally. I’m naked. My body, my soul, my heart. All my walls are down. Somewhere in my head, a red alarm blasts and my inhibitions are getting armed, ready to fight back. I’m trying to decode his expression. He is amused, irritated, and…playful? The mixture of emotions doesn’t make any sense.
“Mess with me, Followhill, and I will ruin you.”
“Not if I ruin you first.”

You’d Be Mine- Erin Hahn (ARC Review)

I’ve been sitting on this story for some time now, i was fortunate enough to read it earlier in the year but wanted to post the review closer to the release date so with just a few days before this is published and you get to feast your eyes here I will share my thoughts on this amazing debut novel by Erin Hahn.

After reading a heart wrenching story i wanted to dive into a more light read but to my surprise You’d  Be Mine is much more, is the kind of story that just warms your heart but also tugs the heartstrings of the heart. It was what I needed at the time.

The story is about two different souls, Annie Mathers a very talented girl who is also a country music royalty, Annie is hesitant to follow her parents footsteps into the music world, she loves music but she also knows music took a lot from her. Then you have Clay Coolidge a country music superstar, the bad boy of country, for clay music is an escape but after a pattern of bad behavior he soon learn that everything can be replaced including him, ultimately his music company makes him an ultimatum convince Annie to do a summer tour with him or loose his career. But what happens when this two souls get more than what is ask of them, what happens when the attraction becomes too strong to stop it?

This a very charming story, is also a debut novel from upcoming author Erin Hahn and I can definitely say I’m impressed with her writing and cannot wait for what she will deliver next. If you love bad boy/ good girl, and country music or just want to read a good book. Pick it up.

Laws of Physics: Space - Penny Reid

We finally have part 2 of Mona and Abram story. Fast forward two years and Mona still holding that secret but also her love for Abraham, what will happen when all is reveal, will be forgive her?

It’s been two years since the events of part one happen, Mona still hiding the secret from Abram. Abram now a successful musician and they have gone with their lives until an encounter in Aspen  along with their friends. what happens when all is revel will the open wounds and pain heal?
Space really touched in the emotional side of this story. You have Mona still that lonely girl that doesn’t want to cause burden but now battling with guilt because of how she deceived Abram. And we have Abram who still loves Mona but has all this pain and anger towards her.

I was very happy when I finally dive back in into Mona and Abram story, I was so caught up in the first part that I was impatient to read the second, Mona is truly one of my favorite heroines. And Abram is a hero that I can help but love. I really loved this second part, it was very emotional, I was happy, then angry and then sad. I had all kinds of emotions throughout this story I honestly cannot wait for the next installment I need More. This series is Addicting, Read It!!

The Risk (Briar U#2)- Elle Kennedy

Have you ever hyped a book so much that your a little afraid it might not meet your expectations well this is not the case The Risk is for sure one of the best reads of 2019. Brenna and Jake stole the other half of my heart (Fitz and Summer own the other). It’s honestly so good my face hurt of how much I smile throughout this entire story.

This Risk tells the story about our self declared bad girl Brenna Jensen, a Briar U student and daughter of the hockey head coach. And our hero Jake Connelly, Harvard student and captain of the hockey team what happens when a fake relationship becomes tho opposites becomes a little too real?

The Risk is definitely another score from Elle Kennedy, I wanted to read about Jake and Brenna since they were introduced in the chase, it did not dissapoint it was so good. It had great writing, the banter was on point, it was sexy and so much more, I was smitten since the first page all the way through the last. I was a little sad once it was over. What I love about this series is that Elle kept the essence of the characters in their own story, sometimes side characters caught your attention but once you read about them they lack the charm we fell in love with not this series the characters past and present kept that charm going.

Overall this is a must read for me a 2019 best read winner in my opinion. If you love sexy hockey
players and a kickass heroine add to the mix a sexy and funny story and you have the Risk, check it
out you won’t be disappointed. A side note cannot wait for the next installment, I also need Brooks Weston book he deserves one.

*****Thank you to Elle Kennedy for providing an ARC for an honest Review *****

KILL SWITCH(Devil’s Night#3) - Penelope Douglas

You know those series that are just so good that waiting for them is like torture because the story and characters just stay with you and don’t let go, well this series is that for me and we finally have in our hands or reading device the newest installment of the Devil’s Night and for those waiting for Damon this his story.

Damon was a character that appeal to most readers when he was introduced in Corrupt but i gotta say I love all the horseman but with Damon I never felt that pull as much as the other he was always my least favorite but his story was something that I was waiting to read.

Kill Switch was a total skock, Damon and winter story was not I expected. Penelope Douglas really deliver with story and in true Penelope fashion you keep wainting more. One thing I can say Damon was definitely not what  I expected him to be, he is not a villain but human that really went through a lot and was hurt, I understood so many of his actions and attitudes it was really an eye opener to his character and many twist throughout the book. And let me tell you what a twis did Penelope Douglas deliver.

I can’t go into details because this one of the stories that is a spoiler from finish to end. But read it, if your a fan of the series definitely pick it up it has so many twist and amazing stuff. I cannot wait for Will story i’m Itching to have it.
