I was fortunate enough to receive an advance readers copy of a brad new spin off series of the popular Off- campus series. If you are a fan you may recognize some characters others are introduced on the chase.
This Summer and Fitz story. She is Dean’s sister (The Score) and Fitz is a hockey player also introduced in the Off-campus series.
I was so happy to read their story. Is light, sexy and a fun to read, the perfect start of a series. Don’t get me wrong it had is what I call mild angts/come to your senses please moments but everything turn out well.
Things I love....
The characters: Summer is a great heroine i love her personality (she is the definition of light ) and her mindset on some things. She suffers from a learning disability and sometimes that can bring her down and doubt herrself of the great potential she has. I love how In the end she embraces the struggles she faces and learns it’s ok and it doesn’t make her any less than others. One thing I can say is that in some things I wanted to knock some sense on her head because I felt that she put herself in some situations that later on brought hurt to someone else. That is my only complain.
Fitz(Colin)- I love Fitz he is not just some jock but also a nerd total opposite of Summer, while she lights the room and commands attention Fitz hides from it, growing up he didn’t have the easiest childhood because of constant fighting of his parents and from then on he became an introvert and would rather hide and be away from drama and all that craves attention.
I know some will find his hesitation towards Summer annoying but I understood it be a in a way I identify with Fitz it can be scary to put yourself out there when inside you feel like you want to crawl in a hole and avoid any kind of stress, drama and attention, don’t get me wrong I too wanted to knock sense into him because his excuses were just that excuses and didn’t not wanted to follow his heart because of his fears. But I forgave him because summer and him are just perfect. The most amazing opposites hero/heroine. And what can i say about their chemistry I felt in every moment I read about them.
I cannot gush enough about this book. Is really a favorite read of the year and a favorite of Elle Kennedy. I’m really excited for this series I can’t wait to read all the stories Elle has in stored for the new seriess . Especially The Risk (Briar U#2) i’m dying to read it , hopefully the hero is a certain someone that definitely caught my eye if not I hope Elle considers him a Hero for future books because he is sexy.
