Callous Shot- Becca Steele

 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ARC Review 

Callous shot is the story of Daniel nephew of a crime boss and Lincoln son of a lawyer and nephew of a cop both had a past that involved their families and that plays a big part in their story but their also somewhat of a rivals they both love to antagonize each other but underneath that “hate” there is simmering chemistry ready to explore 

This was such a good story I was hooked from the beginning it definitely pull me out of my book slump the plot was nice, the banter was amazing and the spice was delicious and most of all the characters were both amazing, you could feel the chemistry brewing between Link and Dan , it was obvious to all but them how into each other they were so that was definitely funny to read. Overall this was such great read, I know this is an interconnected series of a mix of MF and MM but i didn’t feel lost or if I was missing something so that was great. Can’t wait for what else Becca is cooking with this series because I’m so intrigued about some characters

Trust Fall- Lynn Painter

 

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5  ARC Review 

Lynn painter has such a way to take me back to my teenage self and have me swooning over her stories and characters and Trust Fall was not the exception. 

Trust Fall tells the story of Julia who suddenly inherits a fortune and moves to New York but she didn’t count on meeting the great nephew of the man who left leave everything to her, who along with his family wants to get revenge and take everything back but the more time he spends with her the more he falls for her.

This was such a fun story both characters were amazing, I’ll admit it took time for me to warm up to Damion because he was honestly a bit of jerk at times but he won me over and loved that he was down bad for Julia the development of their relationship was one of my favorite moments of the story. Overall this a such a great story and one of my favorites YA of the year 

The New Place- Kit Oliver

 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ARC Review 

One of my favorite stories is the place between i always find myself rereading it so when the author announced that we were getting a sequel I was over the roof with excitement. 

If you read the place in between then you know they fake date that ultimately became a reality, well now The New Place is them being happy and in a relationship but still having somewhat of a long distance relationship that is kind of being hard on Abbot but when an opportunity opens for him to teach close to Ned he immediately starts planning but he doesn’t count on Ned loosing his job and for the reappearance of someone of his past with a great opportunity for him and Ned but this time the will have to fake being engaged. 

The New Place was amazing loved both Ned and Abbot I would say both had a lot of to work on this time around we get to dive into Abbot family past and how that has affect him, and Ned still struggling with being a single father and being in debt when he finally thought things were settling down he gets the news that he will loose his job add the pressure he feels not being enough for Abbot so their journey wasn’t easy but I love that both find that happiness they deserve. Overall i love their story it was such a pleasure to get read about them again, my only complaint is the pacing some parts were rushed other parts were dragged so I would have love had the author kept a steady pace throughout the story but it was good regardless, if you love the first definitely read it.

Break Points and Face Offs

Ever since Priestly was introduced I’ve been obsessed with him, I literally begged Emmery to give him a story and couldn’t have been happier when it was confirmed but what was more exciting was when I was lucky enough to beta read and let just say that if the rough draft was already good the final version is perfect 

Break Points and Face offs is the story of rivals to lovers Will and Priestley who both are competing for a prestigious intership that will be the key to their future in finance. Priestley has never lost and can’t afford to loose but  Will isn’t going down without a fight but what happens feelings start creeping in and the competition is not the most important thing anymore? 

The series just keeps getting better and better, I loved BPAFO! dare i say it’s my favorite so far the writing was great as always, the banter and the spice were so good, loved that Emmery is upping the spice a bit, low angst but still has that emotional pull and the characters were just fantastic. Will was a such a delight to read he was one of those characters that you instantly loved life hasn’t always been easy for him and that’s why he deserves all the happiness in the world, his pov is definitely one of my favorites of the entire series. And can’t forget Priestley If you been following the series then you already know Priestley as the uptight, bit assholish former frat president that made the lives of his frat brothers a little more intense in some ways but this time we get to peak inside his head and it was definitely a treat, as I said before his story was a need for me as soon as his character was introduced I knew there was something about him, he was more than just what others characters saw and I was not wrong, Priestley can definitely be intense  but he’s so much more than that, and is sad that his father can’t see how great of son he is and cares more about himself than the happiness of his children. I’m glad it he met Will because he was the balance he needed and the happiness he deserved.
